No, I have not read the entries yet.
I want to, but every time I even think about the competition I get really angry and depressed. So I just can't.
6 people left, if my memory's right.
I planned for at least ten at this point. At the very least. But I was thinking around 15.
That's over double...
I have no plans left. It's two challenges in, I haven't even eliminated anyone yet, and we've got 6 people.
Some people, like Thrust and Emerald, gavae me good reasons why they backed out. Most did not.
Why enter, if not going to compete? Val and Zaf said they probably wouldn't. Most did not.
There isn't even enough people for teams...
I tried. I really did. I planned for a long time, and really thought about it. I have no ideas left that are any good.
I did plan for six people at one point, before any of you say it. But other things were going to happen first.
I've got six people left.
I'm not giving up. I'm just trying to wait until I can think normally when I read the entries, read them, and try and think of something. But at the moment, I can't...

Challenge Two

"Congratulations. Most of you survived the forest. I am impressed. Of course, if so many of you survived, things must not be hard enough. From here on in, the animals still in the forest have gone mad, and will kill anything that enters there territory. Only the animals who left the forest stay normal.
"Challenge Two shall not be in the forest, I think. No."
The person points North West to a mountain range. It has no trees on it, it just looks like rock.
"You must get to the top of that mountain. It's four times as big as this one. It's a two day journey to get up at least, so I would recommend finding shelter that night. A few animals might find you otherwise. On the mountain is an amount of coloured cards. Some are red. Some are blue. Find one and bring it to the top with you. If you bring more then one card, or do not bring any cards, you have failed. The mountain is dangerous. There is no path of climb on, you must scale it. At night, birds that use it for laying their eggs will go out and hunt. If they find you, they will attack you."
The person smiles.
"Some of you may be wondering about the envelopes you hold in your hands. Make it to the top of the mountain, and you shall see what's in them.
"Good luck."

Miss Cain, welcome to The Competition.
Entries must be in by Wednesday, my time. Alliance writing is allowed this time, but there are no teams yet. Remember the rules, have some good writing, and you'll do fine.

The Competition is closed for the moment

For personal reasons, I'm taking a break, and the competition will be frozen. In a few weeks, I'll be back, and it'll be continued, but for now, it will not go forward.

End of Challenge One

So ends challenge one, with disappointing results. Eleven people made it to challenge two. Sparky, Mist, Star, Flame, Eve, Adrasdos, Emerald, Fire, Girl of Many Names, Kallistra, Selena and new competitor, Lavender made it in. I’ll discuss your entries in a minute. Valkyrie V. Cain, Luciana, Red Waterfall, That Lakinson Guy and Zafira, your time ends here. You did not give me your entries, and you will be eliminated. Pack your bags, leave and don’t darken this doorstep again. None of you even went to the trouble of emailing me and telling me you couldn’t be in the comp, like Thrust did. None of you will be coming back to the Competition, unless there is no one else available, and I need people. I’m disappointed.

To the rest of you, congratulations, you made it. Many of your entries were brilliant, and enjoyable to read. But there are a few things needed to be cleared up.

There are no magical abilities, no matter how small. Lavender, by navigation I thought you meant looking at the son, by the east and west thing, or looking the moss on rocks. Not feeling your way by magic. So, no more of that. Star, you cannot have Ink blood. In this, you are not people who were once magical; you are not your characters. You are you. Girl of Many Names, where do I begin? You had yourself defeating animals with punches. You knocked a bear around with two punches, and sent a wolf flying with one. You also had another competitor in your writing. You broke the rules, so this is your one and only warning. Do it again, and you may go up for elimination.

Emerald, no more compass. I gave you no compass. If I do at one point, that’ll be a good tool, especially in team challenges. Fire, no hot chocolate. Flame, I’ll actually let the buttons thing go down, because it made me laugh. Kal, your obsession with the one also made me laugh, but no, I did not snort out my drink. Gotta work harder than that. Mist, you Coward. Good work. Eve… Yo. Adrasdos, sorry about the dress. I won’t pay for it. Sparky, you stink. Good work. Selena, the tree will eventually move. I’d try running into it head first… yeah, that’ll help.

Girl of Many Names, yours was the worst. I would pick up your act. The winner of challenge one is Sparky, and the second by a hair is Mist. Sparky, you have won a prise. A rock, which can be a useful tool and weapon. The rock is the size of your fist. Mist, you have won a stick. The stick is as thick as your index finger and middle finger together, and is as long as from your elbow to wrist.

But we seem to be down a few people. For number reasons, I need one more person. Leave your email in this comment section, even if you’ve put your email in another post. Octa and Miss seem to be willing. But I only need one. So, one of you won’t get in. You’ll need to be able to give me an entry a lot, so you’ll need to be on a fair bit. I will not. If you can’t get on enough, I wouldn’t recommend trying out.

Oh, and something I forgot to mention before. I might email a small thing back to you sometimes, a reply to your challenge. Something that I don’t want everyone to know. I won’t do it all the time, but sometimes.

Challenge 2 shall be on Sunday. Be ready

I did say Thursday Australian time. That's a day earlier then for most of you. In two hours from when I post this, actually. But I think I'll wait until I wake up. When I do, there better be all 16 entries. A warning, anyone who doesn't give me their entry should prepare to be straight out

Challenge One

You walk towards the other competitors. There are about fifteen others there, all waiting. No, there is another. You cannot describe him, he just is. You know that this is his place, he rules it. He smiles has you join the others, and begins talking.
"Welcome. As you may have guessed, this is The Competition. Sixteen of you are here. Only one of you will win. This all begins with the first challenge.
"You are in the woods. A camp ground, more precisely, surrounded by woods. If you go North-East, you will find a big hill, what some call a small mountain. At the top of this hill, is sixteen envelopes. One for each of you. Your challenge is to get to the envelopes. You do not have to get back here. I will be up there, waiting for you. But be careful. These woods are filled with dangerous creatures, and you are bound to find some on your way here. Good luck."


Remember, the aim isn't to finish first, it's to be the best. Try not to go on though, it may bore me. There is no word limit, but if you make it too long, I'll get bored of it. Oh, and you must finish the challenge. Remember, anything you do to your character is permanent until I say it's not, like an injury or something. Oh, and you must meet at least three animals, and fight at least one. You have no weapons, so this should be interesting. You cannot find any weapons on the ground, like a rock or anything. You have to use your bare hands. Animals have to be those which you would find in normal woods, like wolves, bears, deer, rabbits, e.c.t.
You must email me your entry by Thursday. There are no teams yet. You are not allowed to do alliance writing for this challenge, this is individual writing. Any questions, feel free to email me. Thrust is not in The Competition, if anyone wants to know why I only had sixteen people.

Entries are closed! Rules, and who got in

I am going to list the rules of The Competition. If you have any problem with these rules, email me or comment. If you cannot be a part of this blog because of the rules for some reason, comment or email me. If you have a problem or can’t be a part of it, you must tell me the reason/s, and I’ll see if a change can be made. For this blog, for some challenges, you must keep in contact with others. I recommend email.

For several challenges, you will be in teams. The teams could range from six to two people, so be prepared. You will also be on your own for some challenges. For team challenges, you only have to submit one entry. You could choose one person to write it, or write it all together. Team entries must have all people in the writing. These can be from either first person, or third person. You could also do it from several people’s point of view, as long as they are characters. Teams can only be chosen by me. (FYI, a good reason to eliminate someone on your team would be because they are in an alliance, which isn’t illegal, but then you can’t trust them, or if they aren’t doing a good job)

You’re characters have no weapons or tools. They will not find weapons or tools on The Competition, so do not try and write about them. You can only have on character per person. No magic or other powers. Anything that happens to them is permanent, like an injury, so take that into consideration when writing.

For writing, the aim isn’t to finish the challenge first, the easiest way. The best writing, and the smartest way are what I’m looking for. Bad writing will get you a shot at elimination. All writing will be sent to me. You cannot include other people in your writing, unless it is teams or alliances. Writing can be funny, serious or anything, as long as anything they do isn’t impossible. For the first five challenges, if I find something done that is impossible to do (that includes defusing a bomb, beating up something dangerous or something else most adults can’t even do) then you get one warning. After the first five challenges, there will be no mercy 

Eliminations can vary.  They might be by me, if a choose a person that didn’t meet standards. They might be by the teams, a vote. They might be by everyone, in a vote. They might have to write something with the people who did the worst, a sort of tie breaker. Some challenges will not be elimination challenges. I may also make up more elimination challenges. Stay updated with the blog, there is a small chance that you may have a shot of getting back into the challenge after elimination. There is also an even smaller chance, but a chance still, that others, people who did not try out in the original entries may get in. But I wouldn’t count on it, that’s only if… ah, I won’t spoil it

Rewards may vary to weapons and tools, to immunity, to strengths of skills, to secrets of another competitor (very rare reward). The best writing will not always win rewards, but mostly will. You can give rewards to other competitors. There are also punishments besides elimination. Some rewards are individual rewards, some are team. Some are private, some are public.

Alliances are tricky. Alliances can be made with any competitor, even on another team. With alliances, you can do a number of things. You can give rewards, tell them of other people’s secrets, make arrangements of who to vote. You can also write an entry together, if it is an individual challenge. If it is alliance writing, you must include all characters in your alliance. You don’t have to do alliance writing if you’re in an alliance. If you’re part of an alliance, but not part of that alliance writing, people who write the alliance writing must put who isn’t doing alliance writing in the email, and people who are part of an alliance but not the alliance writing must say so in the email. I know it’s confusing. Alliances are made by yourself, on your own choices. You can email them. I recommend you keep the alliance secret, and don’t talk about it anywhere but email.

When you email entries to me, the subject is important. It must have the name of the blog (The Competition), the challenge number, and team name. You will be given team names, and you must write the team names. The team’s members don’t have to be in the subject, but have to be in the email, besides in the writing. If it is alliance writing, you must include alliance in the subject. The alliance members have to be in the email, besides the writing.

Any questions, email me under the subject- The Competition: Questions. All information rewards given, alliances, teams and such must be emailed to me. If you do not email me this information, you will be put to elimination or punished, and depending on others writing, actions and such, you may be eliminated straight away. If you give a reward, the person giving must tell me, and the person receiving must tell me when they’ve got the reward. In alliances, everyone in the alliance must email me to say they are in the alliance. Be warned, I will not put up the best writing most of the time, but I will with worst writing. Team or alliance writing that is the worst will be put to vote, or I will choose one or more people. If you want you alliance to stay secret, make sure your writing isn’t the worst.

Challenges will at least occur once every two weeks, unless I say different. You will be given at least three days the write your entry. Please email me if a rule doesn’t make sense. If you cannot complete a challenge, tell me in advance to the submission date. You must tell me your reason, and it must be a good one. If you do not complete a challenge, you will be up for elimination.

Maybe you noticed by now everything is done pretty much by email. That may change later in The Competition, and it will be done differently.

Welcome

This is the new blog. If any of you have heard of the Island, this blog is a lot like that one. I write a series of chalenges, and whoever's entered must write a short thing about what they would do. Points for the smartest way out, the best writing and so on. For the worst... eliminations
